Thanks to the kind fans at FMH who have posted a report on the Transformers display at the Toy Fair 2012 event going on in the UK this week. The report offers up some insights on the shape of things to come this year.
Highlights include new on new products coming to the Generations line that is to include 8 new figures. The Transformers Prime Weponizers with Leader class figures that feature 4-modes of play and more. Then there is this new thing they call Optimus Maximus. A transforming figure who's alternate mode is a base for your Cyberverse figures.
According to Full Metal Hero, Hasbro has nice looking display this year with the traditional suite of their own for showing new product to prospective retailers. Again this year, no photography was allowed but here's the highlights of what we will see in the coming year.
GENERATIONS
This will be great news for many fans that 8 new figures are coming to the Generations line. FMH reports on a "hard copy" of Jazz that looks like a sports car, with 4 wheels, and has a Cybertronian look to it. They confirm the line will carry on under the Generations name and may include Grimlock.
PRIME WEAPONIZERS
We've had some sneak peeks and reveals on these new guys and it appears we're gonna see more of them with a full reveal likely at Toy Fair 2012 in New York City. FMH reports they got to see Leader class Optimus Prime and Bumblebee action figures on display that have been simplified to younger fans. The new figure are reported to have four modes of play that include concealed weapons and other features.
OPTIMUS MAXIMUS
Cyberverse gets more gnarly with even more Base goodness. Let your imaginations run wild for a Figure / Playset that is large enough to transform from a "figure" into a base for your Cyberverse action figures. That's some serious scale, larger then a Leader class we have to guess. FMH says the thing has lights, sounds, and firing rockets that you can shoot.
NEW KRE-O
Kre-O continues with new sets of multiple figures revealed such as Decepticon Ambush thatis a Kreon base. Cycle Chase pack includes Prowl and 2 Kreons. Decepticon Helicopter that is a Starscream look-alike repaint with 3 Kreons and "quad bike." Kre-O Stealth Bumblebee, a black colored mold with 3 Kreons. Transformers Prime Kre-O Race Car Showdown, Knock Out and Wheeljack 2 pack with Kreons mini figures. Kre-O G1 Optimus Vs Megatron set features Optimus Prime vs G1 Megatron with tank mode, playset and 3 kreons. And, if we did have enough of them, Kre-O Devastator. Its a 9 in 1 playset that mixed of G1 style robots with the movie colors on 4 on them. FMH reports they don't look anywhere as bad as the controversial ROTF Devastator figure set.
OTHER TRANSFORMERS STUFF
FHM has reported those items as the highlights of the show with the rest of the display dedicated to much of the product we know of already including Cyberverse Legion, Commander and Cyberverse Vehicles class figures, The Transformers Prime First edition, RID Revealers, Powerizers, and Weaponizers. Odds and ends include Battle Masks and Bot Shots.
