Yesterday, we reported that Roberto Orci, a third of the screenwriting trio signed on to script "Transformers 2," has stated that the movie may suffer due to the Writers Guild of America strike.

However, "nelson," the administrator of "Transformers" director Michael Bay's website Shoot For The Edit has provided a response to Mr. Orci's comments.

"BTW, Bay just indicated to me that Transformers is still on schedule," he writes. "The movie is still in heavy prep and 'will be released JUNE 24th 2009.'"

While not a contradiction of Mr. Orci's statements, Mr. Bay seems to be offering a more upbeat scenario regarding the status of "Transformers 2."
